Carpet warehouse in Hungary
Our history started in 1993, when we started our carpet business with 2 carpets. For years our own apartment was our carpet warehouse. Yes, you had to start somewhere and we really started from scratch. That same year we formed Bakhtar Limited Company, because we wanted all imports and sales to be in compliance with the law. For years we only imported a few carpets from Afghanistan and sold them on the Hungarian market. In the beginning we had no resale partners. We could only sell carpets through recommendations from people we knew. People loved oriental carpets, as they do now. But they were not so familiar with the world of Persian carpets. Over the years, Oriental carpets have become a status symbol. This is how our company has grown year by year. We rented a small warehouse instead of our home, because after a few years we were importing more carpets from Afghanistan.
Carpet trading partners
Since we had a steady supply of carpets, after a while we had business partners who sold the carpets in their own shops. We still have a good relationship with them to this day. Our good reputation spread not only in Hungary, but all over Europe and even in America. Carpet dealers from all over Europe came and selected our carpet range for resale. One day, a dealer from Chicago called us, heard that we were wholesaling carpets and wanted to come by our carpet warehouse because he was going to be vacationing with his family in beautiful Budapest soon. We have been in good business with him ever since.
Domotex carpet exhibition
At this exhibition only the biggest carpet dealers from all over the world are represented. Hannover has been hosting the show for many decades. We have been exhibitors at Domotex for several years. Here we have also been successful in acquiring new partners. Of course, the carpet dealers from Germany had an advantage, because they had the exhibition. It took a lot of work and effort to organise such an exhibition. But in hindsight, it was worth it to be there among the biggest. Unfortunately, this exhibition has lost its prestige in the world of carpet dealers nowadays.
