How do I preserve the beauty of my carpet
Oriental carpet care
Depending on the amount of wear and tear your wool carpet is exposed to, it is always a good idea to take proper care of your oriental carpets. One way of doing this is to vacuum clean. An important rule of thumb is to vacuum in the direction of the fibres and to run the vacuum cleaner over the wool carpet in a lower setting. Preferably, it should be done on both sides. A not too high degree of vigour will protect the knots. The use of cleaning machines should be avoided as they damage the fibres of the Persian carpet. Occasionally wipe with a cotton cloth dipped in vinegar and wrung out. There is also a folk method of care: in summer, lay the surface of the wool carpet to be cleaned on top of dry and clean garden grass, then pull it back and forth a few times in two directions. This method cleans the surface of the carpet for the most part, but leave the more thorough cleaning to a professional.
